Why You Should Join MACDS-SA?

MACDS-SA was created to offer assistance to our members in advocating for and promoting high quality services for all people with developmental disabilities and to encourage the development of programs and services needed for people with disabilities. We seek to ensure that service providers are strong, community businesses providing high quality service choices. We do this through advocacy, information, support and education.

There are about sixty agencies throughout the state of Montana who contract with the state to provide the services needed to support those with developmental disabilities in their communities. Services include a wide array of residential and employment opportunities for adults, family education and support services for children and their families. At both the state and national levels, these services are changing and growing. With that growth comes increased scrutiny from policymakers, consumer organizations, the media and various advocacy groups. We believe it is important for developmental disability services providers to have a strong, unified voice in Montana. MACDS- SA provides that voice. Contact us for more information about how you can become a member of Montana’s only associations that exclusively represent providers of developmental disability services.

We are a strong, effective advocate on provider issues with all state agencies and policy makers who affect your business, as well as being involved at the federal level when appropriate. We have been involved with Medicaid reimbursement issues, development and renewal of waivers, and an array of rule-making proceedings in Montana and were actively involved in the recent federal regulations relating to home and community-based settings. We meet regularly with DDP and DSD staff to discuss issues that are important to our members. We also work with the legislature and legislative interim committees on issues affecting our members. We are a recognized and trusted source of information on community disability services issues with policymakers and regulators.

We provide regular updates to our members about issues of interest to them – whether state or federal regulatory changes, new laws, or new concepts and ways of delivering service.

We are able to assist you with issues that arise in your business. We understand that all too often it is difficult to obtain timely information and responses from the agencies and organizations you work with in Helena and we can assist with that. And our membership meetings and seminars provide a valuable opportunity to network with other providers’ management and staff as well as DDP and DSD staff, legislative services staff, vendors and others.

We are committed to quality services and offer educational seminars and workshops that are designed to keep providers informed of the latest trends, innovations, theories and legal and regulatory developments that affect their operations. Our annual conference provides valuable educational opportunities.
